Tollkuci Family Genealogy
As with many other issues, unfortunately written historic documents are very scarce here in Albania, so the following provides a best effort overview of the Tollkuci family Genealogy. It is known that Tollkuci family has been living in Polene of Korca for hundred of years. Also, it is known that some close cousins have lived in Ohrid (nowadays Macedonia) in the 1800s, most probably having migrated there from Polene due to the problems with the Beys under the Ottoman regime, although it is impossible to rule out a distant origin from that area.
My grandfather, Spiro Tollkuci, was registered to be born in 1 August 1920, but likely was born in 1919. He had 5 brothers (Stavre, Petraq, Dhionis, Stefan and Mikail) and 4 sisters (Marjanke, Gjinovefa, Artemisa and Pavlina) born from 1905 to 1928. They were children of Kristo Tollkuci and Vasile Polena.
Kristo Tollkuci was born in 1870 and it is known that he had 5 brothers (Ilo, Sotir, Nikollaq, Vangjel and Jovan) and 3 sisters (Elena, Dafina and Limono). They were all children of Kosta Tollkuci and Sotiro Syziu. The exact year isn't known, but Kosta was born around 1830 and for a period of time served as a priest in Polena.
Prior to Kosta Tollkuci little is known. He had a brother Spiro and a sister Sofi and they were children of Kristo Tollkuci which must have been born around 1800. The more distant known name is Nuni Tollkuci, the father of Kristo, born around 1760.

Tollkuci House in Old Polena
The old house of Tollkuci Family was destroyed in November 1943 in old Polena. There are still ruins there, and below it's the exact location.
